Consistently Defining Achievement Beyond Borders

In Memory of our Beloved Brother

Message from the Polemarch

Dear Brothers and Guests,

On behalf of the Dominican Republic Alumni Chapter (DRAC), I bid you “saludos” (greetings). As we enter our 3rd year as a Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. with two years previously as an association, we remain enthusiastic in our ability to positively impact underserved communities within the Dominican Republic. As an international Chapter, we face unique challenges in serving a country that is generally not familiar with fraternities along with a different native language and culture. Accordingly, each year our diverse professional membership must continue to enhance our knowledge and capabilities in meeting the needs of our targeted communities across the Dominican Republic.

To date, we have effectively assisted at-risk youth with health care strategies, trade skill development and English language basics. In addition, we have provided essential supplies to orphanages, schools, and religious missions – adhering to our Fraternity’s national Guide Right and Room to Read programs. Going forward, the DRAC envisions broader and deeper influences within the Dominican society, and we welcome support from all that want to assist our initiatives. Overall, the DRAC is committed to upholding the objectives of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. as we expand our global presence.

So, we appreciate you for visiting our site and we wish you “salud y bendiciones” (health and blessings).

 Muchas Gracias,

Christopher Lemmie

Making an Impact

In keeping with the fraternity’s long-standing commitment to Community Service and Guide Right programs, DRAC members visited the “Instituto De Idiomas New York Center.” The center provides guidance and instruction to Spanish speaking students who are interested in learning to speak fluent English. During the visit, DRAC provided each student with a bookbag stuffed with various school supplies (pencils, writing pads, crayons, etc.). The students were overjoyed, as many of them had never owned a bookbag previously and the supplies came in handy. At the conclusion of the visit, DRAC provided a $500 scholarship to one of the center students who will soon be attending college.
